Fort Collins among worst places for yoga gurus

Running a profitable yoga business in Fort Collins might be a bit of a stretch, according to a new analysis.

The Choice City is the sixth-worst place in the country for aspiring yoga teachers, according to the Thumbtack analysis released Thursday.

For the analysis, San Francisco-based Thumbtack looked at 58 cities throughout the United States. The consumer service website meditated on the number of yoga gurus in each area, the growth of each yoga market and the average price of yoga lessons.

The average lesson in Fort Collins costs $43.04. That’s cheaper than the only other two Colorado cities ranked by Thumbtack: Denver ($51.34 per lesson) and Boulder ($50.91 per lesson).

“The very worst place to be a yoga instructor in America? Springfield, Massachusetts, thanks to low growth, low opportunity for yoga instructors and some of the lowest wages,” Thumbtack’s website states. “Because of its fast growth, Nashville, Tennessee, is our No. 1 city for yoga instructors.”
